Shervington Farm Wedding

Saturday 6th July 2013:

DSC_0062Saturday morning dawned bright and beautiful, it couldn’t have been a more perfect day for a wedding. The sun was shining and the sky was a cloudless blue as we arrived in the morning at Shervington Farm.

The marquee looked spectacular for Edward and Stacey’s wedding. Cariad Canvas supplied the event with a marvellous Giant Nordic Wedding Tipi, decked out inside with flowers and bunting to make the tent truly magical.

Dotted about the field were a number of white tents, making up the Canvas Wedding Village for the guests to spend the night, “glamping” in luxury. It was great to be working in such an idyllic setting.

We set up eveBOlR0pkCIAMQWA7.jpg largerything in the catering tent and were good to go. Guests began to arrive around two o’clock, peckish and extremely thirsty on such a hot day. The canapés went down a treat, washed down with glasses of Prosecco: wild mushroom stroganoff filo baskets, Chinese duck and chilli wontons and Pant Mawr cheese and leek tartlets were amongst the favourites.

After speeches it was time for the main courses and the kitchen buzzed with activity as all the meals were plated up. The guests had the option of either: char-grilled fillet of Welsh black with garlic and black pepper butter, free range Saltimbocca chicken with pesto wrapped in Camarthanshire ham or the vegetarian main of goats cheese and beetroot pithivier, all serves with crushed buttery new potatoes and green beans.

There was a short break before dessert as the singing waiter entertained the guests with some renditions of the couple’s favourite songs. The trio of desserts looked fantastic, dark chocolate brownie and whipped cream, lemon cheesecake with mint syrup and summer berry meringues with raspberry cream, all followed by a cheese board per table accompanied with summer fruit salad.

DSC_0063The evening was provided for by the amazing From The Sauce BBQ company, with Hapus Ice Cream providing sweet treats for the guests in the evening. Our food went down a storm, and the bride and groom were extremely happy and expressed what a wonderful time they had experienced on their special day.
