Meet the team Rachel Bott




Rachel, our new Office Manager

What does your job title actually mean?

It’s a bit of everything. I take bookings, ensure we have the correct details for the events, liaise with the kitchen for menu queries, order hire items for every event and generally make sure things are running smoothly both in the office and at our events.

What has been your path into this industry?

I studied events management at university for 4 years, within that time i worked at Penarth Pier Pavilion working in some of their first weddings and then at a beautiful countryside wedding venue in Worcestershire. After graduating i worked at Canada Lodge and Lake, Creigiau – moving from wedding coordinator to head of events; organising in house events and introducing new elements for our corporate side. Then I decided it was time to move on, and here I am!

What is your Favourite Meal?

My mother’s lasagne! Nothing beats Italian home made cooking. Belissimo!

What is your Favourite Drink?

I am partial to a G&T now and then, but I LOVE Cinzano/Martini Bianco and Lemonade.

What do you like best about your job?

Variety! Something new happens every day, I meet new people and learn new things.

What is your kitchen nightmare?

Something is missing/ hasn’t been ordered!

What is your kitchen heaven?

Smoooooooth service and everybody enjoying themselves – including the staff!

Most memorable event you have worked on at EJ Catering?

We recently did an amazing event in The Depot, Cardiff for Sky’s VIP rewards screening of the final episode of Game of Thrones. As a fan myself it was an amazing thing to be a part of and if you haven’t seen it – get on our Instagram!

Who is your food industry inspiration?

The two greedy Italians! My parents always watched them when I lived at home and I have their cook book
