AN ETHICAL CHRISTMAS

AN ETHICAL CHRISTMAS

With Christmas fast approaching we’re seeing loads of articles in the press and conversations on social media about how much we spend on gifts we don’t need. And then there’s all the packaging which adds to the mountain of junk and plastic damaging our planet and contaminating the oceans. That’s why more and more people are looking for gifts which are about making experiences and sharing the love. So here’s an idea for a present which combines getting together with friends and celebrating good times with the bonus of giving back to other people.

BrickJam 3 is an evening of food, music and fun in a great venue: the Old Library in The Hayes, Cardiff. It’s happening on Friday 25th January and tickets cost £40. Over half of the price of each ticket will go directly to support the Brick Children’s School in Nepal. The School provides education and medical care for children working in the brick fields near Kathmandu. BrickJam 3 will fund the charity’s Tiffin Project which ensures that 150 children get a good, nutritious meal every day. We’re also breaking down the barriers which stop many girls from going to school by raising funds not just for Tiffin but for toilets too.

Two years ago Molly, Jake and I visited the school. We met the kids, ate lunch with them and I met the chefs too (see pictures attached). The money we raise at BrickJam will feed these kids and help keep them in school. By getting a better education they get the opportunity for a better future.

If you’re going to buy a ticket to Brickjam 3 as a gift you’ll of course need something to give. That’s why I’ve asked Molly to design an exclusive, limited-edition ticket! We’ll post it out to you in plenty of time for you to put it under your Christmas tree – and hopefully the Christmas trees of all your friends!

Give the gift of friendship this year. We look forward to feasting with you!
